Operations continue for the #i10TuneUp! for the week of Aug 9 to 14! Got to http://i10TuneUp.com for more updates and project information! Remember, slow down as you approach the work zone as there is a new traffic configuration! #Caltrans8
Aug. 9 – 14, 2020
Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Crews continue working in the center median behind k-rail from 8th Street in Banning to approximately Main Sreet in Cabazon for roadway paving work.
Lane Closures: Expect Delays
Sunday – Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
EB and WB alternating lane closures from Pennsylvania Avenue in Beaumont to SR-111 for concrete pouring, roadway demolition, excavation work, and k-rail installation. Two lanes available to traffic until 11 p.m. then reduced to one lane. Allow extra time and expect delays.
To help maintain freeway capacity during construction, the crossover lane is now open on the left side of the eastbound freeway from 8th Street in Banning to Main Street in Cabazon. Upon entering the crossover lane, there is no exit for 5 miles, and the speed limit is 60 MPH. Big rigs, trucks towing trailers and RV‘s are prohibited from entering the crossover lane.
To complete the concrete rehabilitation without reducing freeway capacity, crews will build a temporary “crossover lane” in the construction area. A crossover lane creates workspace by shifting one lane of traffic to the other side of the freeway using a temporary K-Rail lane that crosses the center median.
